Super season for Rottefella

The cross country season started as early as November, in Swedish Gällivare, where Marcus Hellner won at home, in front of Swiss Dario Cologna. In the women's classification, Norwegian Marit Bjørgen clinched the first race victory of the season.

With no Olympic games or world championships for the cross country skiers this season, the main goal for most of the athletes was the Tour de Ski stage race. Swiss Cologna won the event, after a massive battle with his main rival, Norwegian Petter Northug, who finished third. In the women's classification, Polish Justyna Kowalczyk beat Bjørgen, setting the stage for a battle that would last to the very end of the season.

The total world cup was finished in the same country as it started, in Swedish Falun. Cologna won the last race of the season, and also the world cup overall. It is the third time the Swiss wins the world cup, which places him among the best cross country skiers of all time. Norwegian Northug, who was struggling with illness the last few weeks of the season, still finished in a strong third place, and we believe these two will continue their fight next season. Both Cologna and Northug compete on the Rottefella Xcelerator binding.

In the women's classification, Bjørgen won the overall world cup, in front of Kowalczyk, who both race on Rottefella bindings. The two rivals have been followed each other throughout the season, and it wasn't until the final races until Bjørgen could seal the season victory, thus winning the total world cup for the third time.

Biathletes shooting it up
The biathletes racing on Rottefella have also had a great season, and during the world championships in German Ruhpolding, 96 percent of the individual medals were won on Rottefella equipment. The leading profile in this season was without doubt French Martin Fourcade, who won the total world cup, as well as three gold medals in Ruhpolding. It was the first overall win for Fourcade, who is set to be a favourite in the future as well. In the women's classification, German Magdalena Neuner finished her carreer by winning the overall world cup, as well as two gold medals in Ruhpolding, making her one of the most successful female biathletes of all times. Both Fourcade and Neuner race on Rottefella equipment.
